Sensitivity

The Torah states: If your brother is poor , you shall strengthen him, as a stranger and a settler.”

Rashi inverts this thought. He says, don’t wait until your brother is poor, by then it is too late. He then gives a parable, if you see a donkey wavering, do not wait for the burden to fall off.

The Torah is exhorting us to be sensitive to others, before the crisis. Before the tragedy.
