In the Haftorah of Balak, the Prophet Micah tells what the real deal Is, what Gd wants from us:

Will the Lord be happy with thousands of rams, ten thousand oils, what does Gd “dorash” (inquire?) of you, to do justice, love cheesed and walk justly.”

Simple and beautiful. But why the word “dorash” which means seek or investigate? The Shikker Dovid would like to suggest that it is up to each individual to find his strength in doing cheesed, to find his strength in good deeds and just acts. It is a process, a life long investigation. It is everyday. As they say, it is “work in progress.” We must investigate what Gd wants from us, what we can do and keep expanding.
