Mistakes For the Sake of Heaven

The pasuk in Chapter 24 verse 19 of Devarim states: When you are harvesting and your forget an “omer” (measurement of wheat) Dont go back to get it. Leave it for the stranger or orphan.

In Today’s daf in Pesachim 57, we learn of somone mistakely gave “pe’ah from vegetables” and quickly corrected the mistake by offering the poor people double of other produce to get back the
vegetables. Rashi tells us he did this so as not to shortchange the Levi of his proper portion of those vegetables.

The Shikker Dovid would like to learn a lesson. If we make a mistake like forgetting some extra money, may we merit that it always be on the side of generosity.
