Humility Lesson of Parshat Yitro

While this idea is not so deep or spectacular, the SD would like to share a simple Rashi from Parshat Yitro. The parsha describes when Yitro comes to join Israel he make a big feast. Chapter 18, pasuk 12. ” And Yetro, the father in law of Moshe made Burnt offerings to Gd and Aaron and the elders of Israel Came.” Rashi asks the obvious question: Where was Moshe? The answer: He was the waiter serving at the feast. This Rashi is probably very famous and nothing deep or new. But the SD needs to remember the lesson every day. No one is beyond serving or doing the dirty work- especially in Avodat Hashem (service of Gd)
